Do I need standard definition Directv receiver if I DVR with QAM tuner?
I have a DVR with QAM digital tuner and a definition television standard. I'm thinking about getting Directv. I would be able to: 1) view HD transmissions (including the NHL Center Ice package) in my definition television standard, 2) DVR to record a program while watching another show on TV If I have a DirecTV satellite dish and paid subscription to DirecTV, do I need a receiver Directv or can the QAM on my DVR essentially function as the receiver?
Your QAM receiver is useless for satellite reception. Get the DirecTV DVR with dual tuners and have everything ready.
