How high of a satellite dish must be?

I live in a condominium and the association permission page says that if you are Giong to install a dish that should not be more than 3 feet off the ground unless you get permission from the association. I'm scheduled to get Direct TV installed 2O August and do not know much about how everything works. Is there any difference in how high is the dish? The recommendations or experiences shared would be very useful.
