Do you think that the official statement on the downing of the satellite?
Recently, China shot down a satellite from space to "prove" its ability to attack satellites. The importance of this for our national defense if obvious. (Never mind that analysts say the defense wouldnt be this advanced technology without Bill Clinton approved to be sold to them in rockets and high-tech equipment, that's another topic) So now down a satellite, because the official story is … Its fall and has dangerous toxic fuel onboard. The timing is a bit casual, it seems to me. So you think this was the real reason or was to send a message the Chinese?
I would say there are several reasons that combined to make the decision. 1) The satellite spy technology contained in the experience that is more advanced than even our current generation of spy satellites. Do not want to risk someone finding some important pieces. 2) It was an excellent opportunity to test our missile defense system against a target that was not designed. (It's nice to know what things can be done in extreme situations.) 3) is recalled the uproar that occurred when a former Soviet spy satellite crashed in Canada and scattered radioactive debris. 4) The hydrazine tank was dangerous and we are morally obliged to ensure that it will not hurt anyone. 5) It was an excellent opportunity to subtly warn China to stop talking about shooting down our satellites. (Show them that if we can easily modify our things to do better the fight against weapons of satellites that have them.)
